Tips to Start Your New Year Off on the Right Foot.

Hey guys

It is the time of year we all get a little bit more reflective, and as a result we might be feeling a bit overwhelmed with the season of Christmas, and the new decade that is upon us.

Many of you might be thinking of all the great and not so great things that might have happened, events and circumstances that might have changed, losing loved ones, to getting promoted, or becoming a parent for the first time.

Christmas is always a good time to reconnect with our spiritual side and I am here to help you do that.

I would like to reconnect you to the deeper elements of who you are, by sharing some insights on how my year has been and what lead me to make such major leaps. I also want to share my first ever freebie that will give you a step-by-step guide on how I found the courage to change my environment, move back to a city I love and to finding a deeper sense of my purpose as a coach and psychologist in 2019.

The steps have been formulated after months of research from TedTalks, to science journals to videos on neuropsychology, and drawing references from my experience as a clinical psychologist.

I really want to highlight the need to know ourselves better, through the process of being held accountable by a mentor or coach or someone who understands the process of personal development, someone whom you can trust.

There are lots of different avenues to self development, a multitude of tools and techniques at our finger tips yet we are a generation plagued by mental illness.

I have always been passionate about mental health, why we sometimes handles circumstances differently and more specifically, how some people maintain a high level of optimism and enthusiasm and others can live so bitterly sad and pessimistic. Although there are neurobiological reasons behind our perceptions, I believe that a deep sense of purpose and meaning for life can change our approach to life, our relationships and well-being.

I have done a lot of work on goal-setting throughout my life, but I think the steps I have highlighted are not only highly recommended by productivity gurus, performance coaches, business coaches, life coaches, psychologists and cognitive behavioural therapists but they are backed by neuroscience and some the world’s most successful men and women.

The truth is, the need for psychological input is still very much a taboo topic. I feel like we are skirting around the mental health issues and making it a cute and hip thing in America, and on the other hand in the UK, they treat people like robots in the National Health Service, which in essence, means we are going to face the backlash within the next decade.

I created an easy tool for any lay person to understand and try out, but it doesn’t just end there. In fact I am sure this is not the first time you are setting goals either. Our self discovery and attempt to achieve things we want for ourselves is never-ending right?! I am sure you couldn’t agree more with me when I say, we are such a target-driven and appearance-centred society. We all want the finer things, yet we are so empty inside, we drive ourselves through high levels of stress just to get things we think we want, and yet when we get them, we feel alienated because we realise no one is really that happy for us.

This is a good time for me because I am wise enough to realise that something was missing, and that was a true belief in my ability to achieve these grand visions of talking my way through to people’s hurts and reawakening their entrepreneurial spirit.
