My advice to the Rotaract Clubs of Trinidad and Tobago.

Last Saturday I was invited to speak at a TedTalk-like event in partnership with Rotaract Clubs Diego Martin and Piarco-University of the West Indies, Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago.

The event was advertised to the general public with a reservation of over 80 young adults between the ages of 18 and 33. So here I was the afternoon before my speech looking at the other speakers and determining the relevance of this chosen topic.

I used my personal experiences and work experience as a psychologist with the National Health Service in London to highlight the need for planning your life’s trajectory.

We need to carve out the time to engage our right brain/creative brain. Research shows that a creative routine helps us to build a sense of self efficacy and improves our levels of self confidence. When we do something different, or new, it creates a feeling of excitement and helps us to become more creative problem-solvers. For instance, traveling is a personal passion of mine, that helped me build a more creative mindset.

Especially when facing personal challenges or transitions, creative routines can help us to stay focused. In this video, I share some tips on how to adjust to a new environment.

My Live Video discusses some of the tips I shared with the audience that evening.

  • Physical Fitness and Walking up Lady Chancellor in Trinidad
  • Mindful Colouring with the London Girl Gone International
  • Dinner and Dialogue:  A Business Networking Event
